NVH Development Engineer
Location: 275 Rex Blvd., Auburn Hills, MI 48326
Job Type: Full-Time
Perform vehicle and powertrain Noise, Vibration, Harshness (NVH) design and development. Serve as NVH specialist in the development of Mahindra vehicles. Work on vehicle-level projects that include NVH troubleshooting and issue resolution during in-vehicle integration of conventional and alternative energy powertrains. Conduct all NVH testing and support simulation activities necessary to improve, test, and CAE correlation. Perform advanced testing techniques including Transfer Path Analyses (TPA), Frequency Sub-Structuring (FBS), Modal Analyses, Order Tracking, and Coherent Spectral Analyses for root-causing NVH issues. Design full-vehicle acoustic package by setting targets, testing vehicle components and acoustic materials, and predicting system performance using simulation tools and SEA modeling. Drive NVH reduction by recommending design proposals and system modifications. Conduct target setting and cascading from vehicle level to sub-system and component levels. Plan, coordinate, and execute vehicle and component level testing to ensure best-in-class NVH requirements are met. Analyze test data and document results into development reports presentations, and other forms of publication. Write SOW and/or RFQ for outsourced test support projects and ensure service providers meet requirements of outsourced NVH projects. Develop sound quality metrics to predict subjective impressions of vehicles under development. Utilize NVH instrumentation and test and simulation tools including LMS Test.Lab, Head Accoustics Aremis, B&K Pulse SPC, Simcenter 3D, Hypermesh, Nastran, VA One, MATLAB, and LMS Imagine.Lab.
U.S. or foreign Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Must have at least five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a substantially similar position performing all of the above listed duties.
In lieu of a U.S. or Bachelors degree and 5 years experience, employer will accept a U.S. or foreign Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a substantially similar position performing all of the above listed duties.
